A new Gift Card to encourage people to shop local has launched in The District, Columbia.
Driven by the Downtown Community Improvement District (CID), The Downtown Columbia Gift Card can be spent with multiple participating businesses downtown, including shops, restaurants, venues, hotels and services.
Bordered by three universities and home to a variety of organizations, Nickie Davis, Executive Director at CID, said the Gift Card will be useful for students, organizations, visitors and locals alike:

Makes Scents on 25 S 9th St is a participating business on the new Gift Card. Essentialz Bodega at 900 E Broadway is another business which accepts The Downtown Columbia Gift Card . Dimetrious Woods, Founder of Essentialz Bodega said: “Essentialz Is excited to use the Gift Cards because they are going to bring new customers in the door and encourage returning customers!”
